mechanically it should be simple as the blocks are almost identical.

Water ports, aircon, power steering and oil lines might need to be rerouted but it's the electrical transplant that scares me.

as above, the electrics are gonna be the hard part, you will need a complete wiring harness from a 3.8 etc, and even then it will still be interesting.

almost think a lexus conversion will be easier.

Had the conversion done to my Pajero 3.0l. Had them do some work to the heads as well. When we did the dyno tune we couldn't advance the timing enough to get the most power as she was knocking. Had the injectors recalibrated and then did another dyno. She is pushing about 130kw on the back wheels. Conservatively estimate the motor is good for 160kw. Most of the power is above 3000rpm. For the cost (R50000) a Lexus V8 would be better.

Speaking under correction isn't a Lexus conversion around R35 000? One day when SWAMBO's Pajero's 3.0L gives in, I'm having it done
IFS is like a swambo, soft, sexy and expensive!

Apparently I need to make the airplane noises like mommy does when I try to spoon feed you the info..

For the Lexus I have been quoted for complete conversion, including electrics - ie new engine mountings, bell housing adapter, larger radiator, speedo works, modifying the sump, engine light works etc around the 50000 mark. When I started the 3.8 conversion I was quoted 34000 plus VAT. Ended up at 54000.
