    Thanks for comments Peter and Gifmonster.

    He was lying alone just nex on the road.I was told, that his mom was near in bush looking for a kill….Cute cat was too close so I have to reverse my car to get more distance as I didn't want to change my 400mm lens to shorter.

    My africa pictures can be seen 500pix ,Instagram as well.

    Great Pictures JDS! Good quality nice and clear, did you use macro lens or extension tubes? Different editing?

    Thx for the comment. No I was actually using that second hand 70-300lens I bought a while ago. I am not enjoying the lens as the auto focus really struggles and it gets very soft. You will see the top and bottom is a bit out of focus, it was not intentional, but actually because the lens keeps losing focus. So very happy that the shots came out so nice. Still doing minor edits with Gimp. Will not be brave enough to shoot close up macro shots next to a juvenile boomslang

    Very nice. The top and bottom out of focus is a result of the aperture used and not the particular lens or focal range. And in these photographs it works to your advantage as it highlights the subject perfectly. Assuming max zoom at 300mm, max lens aperture @ f/6.3 and shot at 4m, will give you an "in focus band" of just 6cm. Always something to consider when lining up the shot.

    That’s what caught me. B&W doesn’t work in this case. Example;

    Zapiture,
    Discovery 4 Facelift 2015
    Defender D90 2.8 2003
    Conqueror Commander 2014

    Indeed Zapiture, colour is better here- it adds another dimension to the composition.
