Default Nature Photos for Comments & Criticism

Ok, coming from the Photographers' thread, I'll start.

Here's one recently taken in Mabuasehube, Early morning, Sun at 45deg from behind. No time to play around to optimise, just point, shoot or loose it. Lots of fine detail lost having to shrink it to fit

This is what happens when you go driving around game parks in a BMW 3-Series. The thing is just too low... I think we were the only ones who saw the shrews in the bushes...

I took this photo 2 weeks ago in the Biedouw Valley. I call it Beauty and the Beast. Its a bit abstract but I love the feel of the gentle flower with this mean mud terrain tyre stopping just in time before it got crushed. yes i know, it s not your typical nature shot!

Excellent picture Bongani!! If there is only one comment I'd make it would be make to have lowered your point of view to try get some of the tread profile... would have added more drama

...that wasn't the only thing I left at home. I was expecting a comment more along the lines of it being out of focus...

    Bongani, nice.

This thread is a great idea, although it seems to be more showing off than critique so far.

Nuff said: At the Brandberg, around sunset about 10 days ago.

Bongani - I like the theme. I've been playing around with nature and barbed wire for a while now. I'll post a picture or two some time.

This one had all the makings of a fantastic shot. The focus let you down

The same goes for the hornbill. I like the Elephants. It's a shame they're going the other way, but I guess if they were coming towards me at that speed taking a photo would have been very low on my list of priorities

Thanks for the comments, You're dead right. The lion was a difficult shot - Head and shoulders out the window shot over the roof of the car in the fading light with the subject moving towards me. Also well into digital zoom.

The first two pictures were taken on top of Naudesnek early last year. The other two were in Hogsback towards the end of last year.

The photo with the blue flower is great. I like that barb wire been out of focus but one can still see what it is. I would have liked to see the flower with a sharper focus/depth of field.
