    Acraea atolmis - Scarlet acraea
    I have bred a few of these guys out from egg to final stage butterfly and then released them. This particular specimen is non bred specimen photographed in the velt in Katanga

    Juha, I am very impressed with this 200-500mm value for money it cannot be beaten. I counted the shots taken of the Blue Emperor last night, 17 taken and only 2 to be culled, slightly out of focus, that is an 88% hit rate of a fast moving dragonfly in flight. What must have contributed hugely is the focusing system of the D500, set at continuous 25.

    I have been using it on the D500 for the past month or so but am going to swap it around and mount it on the D850.

    Unabridged non intrusive natural light ..Flash belongs in the Studio with Soft Boxes etc

    A year or three ago I had to spend a week in Middelburg for training. Every afternoon I drove to differnent areas out of town to look for a place to shoot something as I don't do the sit in the pub after course thing with strangers.

    Not sure where this is but it was sort of North of town and found some weird rock formations in a grassland. Luckily the clouds played along and I got an ok composition with nice sunset light.
