Default My trailer project - almost complete

I have put up some pics of my trailer project here :
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/1091804591/

Just needs some checker plate on all the leading edges, a trailer tent and then I will be starting with the internals.

Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions.
    Thanks,

    Thumbs up

    Bruce

Every part of the trailer you made yourself looks great but I am not so sure about that Venter nose-cone. Somehow it just does not fit so lekka with the rest of this great trailer. It looks like a after the fact/last minute add on. Why didn't you make one that fits in with the rest of the style of the trailer.

But other than that I must say great, it looks very well built and the overall shape / style (exept the Venter part) is very well done especially for a DIY project.

Some close ups of the open doors, hinges etc. would be nice too.

Thanks Benhur......it did bug me a little, but now that you mentioned it, it is going to bug me alot.....

Im not happy with the nose cone either. I am planning on building one in the future, that will match the trailer but right now I just want to finish it so I can take it out and use it, and I took the lazy way out.......
So if anyone on the list has sheet metal bending machines please let me know.

I will take some close up pics of the open doors etc.....

    I like it...

    some questions.
how well does the V-shaped Shock setup with your leafs work.
why did you not put the spare between the two jerry cans.. in the front.
did you start from scratch, or is this another trailer chassis?

but well done, i like it a lot...

    Thanks Wagoneer,

The v Shaped shocks seem to work well.... but how do you test something like that? What I liked about it, is that I thought it would it works up down and front to back, if that makes sence.....

I didnt put the spare between the jerry cans as there was not enough space.

    I built it from scratch...

    Thanks again....

    Hi Bruce,

I agree with the comments regarding the nose-cone, although looking at the rest of the project you won't have an issue making a great one. Very well done, it looks really professional.

Lets face it, if you leave it (and you're anything like me) it will remain on your to-do (but never get round to) list forever

Very nice. I like the idea of the inclined sides. What size wheels do you have on it? Did you put a drawer system in?

Thanks...but I must admit its not my idea to have the inclined sides, I stole the idea from the Conqueror trailers.

Its basically the shell so far. (nothing on the inside) I will be building drawers all over and will also be building a kitchen. I want to fit the roof top tent before I started with the inside so that it will be easier to fit with nothing in the way.

It has 16inch (235's) wheels to match my Disco's.
