I did not see that article.
I had quite a few of them on the Southern Cape trails and never had a problem. Lets see how it does in Africa.

Iread an article in the Leisure Wheels about their AT Pathfinder. They tookit on a 4x4 trail, and at the first proper axle twister the rear anti-sway bar fell foul of the tires and were damaged.
I thought these things were supposed to be properly engineered? The more I see and hear of them, the more I get the feeling that they only put the necessary effort into the real arctic exploration vehicles (AT40 & AT44), and that the AT35's are just bling?
Beat-up rat rod of a '96 Nissan Patrol that bears the evidence of many wonderful adventures (and a few stupid indiscretions).

They are basically Lamb dressed up as Mutton.
I believe they are a total waste of time and money. The amount they charge for such a conversion in relation to what they do is ridiculous.

I was in Norway last week and saw quite a few 'Arctic Trucks' style modded pickups there. Mostly Hilux's and Navaras. Given the conditions they have in winter time, and the terrain in some of the areas, I can imagine how much fun those guys will be having in a few months time.
Pajero Sport 3.2 donkey with some Stofpad protection and a software upgrade
Travelstar has totally misjudged our requirements in SA. AT is great in Norway because they only need big wheels to decrease their footprint pressure. We want articulation, offroad ability and the need to travel at reasonable speeds on the open road. And anyone that thinks that you can fit 35" and bigger tyres without any drivetrain mods, need to have their heads examined.
En wat van die waarborg op die voertuig .
Some pics of the first Arctic Truck Ford Ranger prototype in the world: 8)
Lots of goodies including bull-bars, TJM suspension, winch, Alu-Cab, body-lift, wheels and rims, flares, bash-plate, roofrack. etc.
You guys up North can have a look at LA Sports Silver Lakes who incidentally also build Arctic conversions now.
