    Question ML 500 using oil

    Hi Guys need some advise

My 2003 ML 500 V8 150 000km is starting to use oil it started in feb this year 500ml n month didn't think anything of it then it become 500ml with every second tank fill up.now every 1000 km or so it needs 500ml or so.

Can it be that the oil rings went

    There's no smoke as yet.

Manufacturers rate oil consumption of 1000ml per 1000km as normal. If it does not smoke I will not worry. Do an oil change and fill up with good quality oil within the Merc`s specs

Merc uses Mobil 1 0W-40 as standard on the AMG models (I use it as well with no issues). Your car has a 113 engine and if you find that your rings are shot it may be repairable, read this

A common problem with these motors are that they leak oil from their tappet covers. Is there any visible leaks?
