Ordered front disks and pads from Powerbrake last week - R7k incl VAT. Can be had cheaper at GW but you are not getting the same quality

Gw then had safebrake brand i think - blue box white writing. The v8 disks are huge compared to the V6

I will probably try power brake as I hear good thing about them. These ones now do get a little squeak when hot.

I guess it will be next year some time as with lock down I think I've done around 700 km in three months

Tried the surebrake disks on the previous Treg, endless hassles and I wont touch the brand again.

V8 rotors are monsters so the V6 should be a bit cheaper. I have been using powerbrake for around 10 years and have always been extremely happy with the product and service

Just got quote confirmed AutoWorks in Strand. R10 K installed. To give you idea. VW Quoted 4 break sensors at R550 each vs R350 for 4...the dealers are ripping people off..I knew it deep down..just not by how much. Thanks for all the help guys. Much appreciated.

Tried them many moons ago on my GTi Challenge car = hard no! Rubbish.

As stated elsewhere, GW does the Pagid/Hella pads and disks for a affordable option in between OEM and Powerbrake. Happy with them fitted to my van.

I did my brake disks and pads on all 4 corners on my V6 for under R5k a while back. Just make sure it is Hella Pagid disks and pads. I am on my second set of pads in front now and still very happy. No shudder or noise even under hard braking from high speed. Bought it all from GW Pinetown. I had big problems with Surebrake at first, stay away. I wish I can afford the OEM Brembos to see what the difference is, but I don't see it being R25k better.

P.S. I tried Ferrodo pads with the Pagid disks, don't, bad shudder started after 1000km. Don't know why. Changed to Pagid pads and they are good.

When I raced GTi Challenge, we had the SA product manager for Ferodo give us a tech talk on the way pads and disks interlink. Since then I have always used the same way to bed in my race car's pads (using normal road compound pads and not race specific pads) and have applied the same to my road cars. Similar to the document attached, except no pre bed in cycle.

Wow, this is expensive ... changed my pads - Brembo in front for R1700, rear - Ferodo - for R1120 Bought at Midas in Vereeniging. Discs were fine so still original. Bought the sensors from Goldwagen (front and rear at ..... I think some R130 each. Did this about 4 000 kms ago in January 2020
Very easy job, although I had to buy a larger (than I have in my garage) a Torx spanner.

Hi Ross, not sure if you have already done the breaks but I did myne 2 weeks ago: In the end I selected Bosch (from advise ofrom this forum). Unfortunately in the end paid almost R11k (Total invoice) as they had to replace all the discs (could not skim it). Hope this helps.Kind regards Edwin

My wife used my car to go to Pretoria. Outside De Aar she hit a pothole and lost 2 tyres. All De Aar had in stock was Dunlops so they replaced the Geolanders with Dunlops just so she can get to Pretoria.

Long story short, I now have 4 of the same tyres fitted on the car again and now have 2x Dunlops for sale which drove from De Aar to Pretoria and back to Langebaan, about 2500 km.

If anybody is interested, I listed them on the classified section. Size is 265/60R18
