    Hi guys,

replaced Treg's Center Bearing yesterday but there is a noticeable vibration at 40-50 km/h. Any ideas?

To replace the bearing the shaft must be split.

If the shaft was not assembled in the same orientation the balance will be out

If the bearing is slightly skew the balance will be out.

Who did the work? Take it back to them and have it rebalanced/refitted.

I dont like vibrating drivetrains. Feels to me like you are stressing bearings and seals.

So I am back... I posted a few months back, stating I was in the hunt for a Treg. And then I bought an Audi A4 2.0TDi Multitronic (2011 Model, B8 )...

We then decided to take my brothers Tiguan up Sani Pass just to check it out....

Needless to say, my Audi is now back on the market, and I am officially on the hunt for a Treg again!

found a heathly load of shredded belt up deep behind the pully an a broken seal.

also a hair lin crack behind the pully wheel- meatal fatigue maybe.

hopefully, from research on the net this crank pulley wheel is a serviceable item and its recommended to change the wheel and seal when you replace the polly v belt, rollers and tensioners.

I should have check this out when my belt failed the first time in March- but in my defense i was lead to believe the oil is coming from the V of the engine- as it used to sweat there a bit but never so bad that I had to top up oil between services

Agree with this. Carzar's estimates are always closest to book values and also to market.

Webuycars are at least R30K less.
