Ek dink dit werk heeltemal so eenvoudig nie Juis die rede hoekom ek vra.

    Myne gee standaard:
86.7kW en 335Nm op die wiele
    132.7kW en 454Nm flywheel

Dit is nogal n groot verskil

Gou gaan kyk.

8 gears is nothing new these days, the X3 uses it and the 2012 UK spec Discovery 4. I think is will be a great drive, my DSG platkar can easily do with more gears given the torque it has.

Correct me if I am wrong but after reading the report in the leasure wheels, it seems the new auto Amarok won't have low range?

Nuwe CAR ry ook die Auto. Baie indrukwekkend.

Correct. The 8-speed box has more gears than a 5-speed with transfer case due to the gears not overlapping.

    Default 132Kw Manual

    Hi All

I had a discussion with the manager in PE and he advises that the first 132kw Dc Manual should be on the floor around the first or second week of May - I've negotiated a short drive(Obviously as it's sold already).

The only confirmations on changes/upgrades that I have been given for the 132kw Manual is the lockable tailgate and the radio controls of the steering wheel - Can find nothing else and nothing from VW.

This is simmilar to the systems they used succesfully in other 4motion products.

    Dis hy daai Oom Vossie.

Hoekom wil ons 2 x 4-spoed ratkaste he, as ons een 8 spoed kan he.

As I said - apparently it works very well and the changing is very smooth - to the extent that the driver are not always able to tell which gear is engaged. I also heard that it gears back when you slow down - like on the Pajeros.

Has anybody, besides Manny, read the May issue of LW - there should be more info in that article WRT the box?

In the mean time, I'm watching the international forums to see when the first one hits the road - probably in the UK or Germany.

Fantastic gearbox that 8spd! VW is surley bringing the advancements that the bakkie market lacked for a very long time. Hell the other makes are still offering 4spd autos! Sjoe!

All that we need from the Amarok now is to provide full-time 4wd capability. Strange that they opted to only bring the part-time 4wd so ZA.

Ek wil my verstout en se die Auto gaan 'n "full-time" auto wees. Ek dink nogsteeds baie dieselfde "drive train" as die Nuwe Touareg.
