    Default 29 mHz Suggestion

I often see people with 29 mHz antennas on their cars but as far as I know theres no calling channel like channel 19 on CB's.
Can't we decide on a channel to monitor while we're riding? Imagine seeing a car with a 4x4 forum sticker and a 29 mHz antenna and being able to call him (/her!). You guys that live in the cities must drive past one another often enough.

Lots of us have radio's but few keep them installed orswitched on constantly. I often drive with mine on scan. Occasionally pick up some ski-boat trafic when close to coast. Once or twice picked up some 4x4 action near Kilarney. It would be great to have a standard shared channel to monitor for 4x4community members.

What's wrong with just choosing a channel that all the forum members use as standard... Or is that what you are suggesting in the first place?

    Channel 14, 15, 16 is available for ORRA/4x4/general use.

    Lets use 15 as standard?

This is a blerrie good idea. Lets adopt a channel. Obviously if there's heavy traffic on a particular trail we can change but I reckon a common channel for everyday use is a brilliant idea. Yassaaas the Capies are sharp.8)

So 14 is the most used , so lets take 15.

Are we agreed? (in the Cape anyway)
