Can a closed thread be reactivated or recreated?

Some 18 months ago there was an interesting thread where a newish member, made allegations against Frontrunner regarding their handling of his roofrack problem. As expected, the discussion got heated very quickly and Dirk in his wisdom decided to close the thread, presumably to avoid legal issues. A lot of time has passed since - is there a sensical way of knowing how this issue panned out?

    The thread is at: http://www.4x4community.co.za/forum/...ad.php?t=68106

if Darryl is still a memebr of these forums send him a pm and ask.
any thread closed and not deleted can be reopened if Dirk or a mod sees it needs to and is justified in being unclosed. problem is showing it needs to be reopened.

No I am not reopening that thread. The issue was resolved as far as I am concerned, and the reply from Front Runner needs to remain one of the last posts.

We all use Frontrunner products, and we cannot afford to tarnish a company's name over one person who has posted.

In fact, I think it is time for that thread to be removed completely.

Just to be clear: I have no issues with FR.
I was merely interested to find out if & how the issue turned out.

I understand, just want to be fair to all.
The OP never posted on that thread again. Typical complaint scenaria.

To be fair, all posting was stopped due to a closed thread, so neither FR or the OP would have been able to come back.

(Just me & my curiosity which I have to put to bed now - sigh...)

For the sake of other curios members:
The original poster had a beef with a Frontrunner regarding a roofrack repair and his version of events and Frontrunner's version of the same were decidedly different, and some uglies were bound to surface.

Quite right Marius. Many members responded, all with strong positive feedback on FR.

That is why the thread was interesting - to see if the complainant could hold his own or to see if he was merely doing the mudthrowing tantrum thing.
