Charlatan has done it and was very disappointed with it. Apparently it's basically a gravel road.

Wait wait - I was disappointed because it was rated in Drive Out or SA4x4 as grade 5, and it turned out to be a 2 or maybe a 3 here and there.

The mountain trail is very scenic - beautiful views. The campsite smelled of sewerage, but that was maybe just our bad luck.

yup, the scenic drive Charl refers to is on the same side of the road as the camp site. The other drive is a jeep track across the hills. Probably about 1 or 2 km (?) back towards Worcester, on the opposite side of the road than what the camp site is.
