This the answer I got as recent as 5days ago from a friend in Botswana.

"Petrol is P8,17 per litre at the moment. Unleaded, lead replacement and diesel available at most filling stations. The Pula and rand are virtually on par give or take a few cents.
Bringing meat into the country can change overnight, usually due to foot and mouth outbreak in South Africa. At the moment the borders are open and there will be no problem bringing in meat. Depending on where you are heading you will be much better off buying meat in Botswana. Rump steak sells at about P49 per kilo. The quality of meat is generally very good. If you are heading for Ganzi or Shakawe there are vetinary control points where you will be stopped and your meat will be confiscated."

Ek glo die groot probleem is bo by Ellisras se hek rond.

    Waar?

Volgende keer vat ek my vleis saam.

Daar is g'n plek in Tsabong vir goeie vleis. Vat saam as jy vleis moet eet.

The butchery in Rakkops is worth a visit. T-bones @ P25/kg, fillet @ P29/kg. It was like going back 15 years! If you like a tasty curry with pap or rice - do not ignore the goat @ P17/kg. The quality was excellent and you can walk into the cold room and choose your cut and how you want it prepared.

We are going to CKGR end April. Have you got the name/tel of the butchery in Rakops ? Is it genuine quality meat?
