Swambo's Stables

So, this being a horsey family and all Swambo decided to bring her prize "Donkey" to the farm, and this being a city donkey he needs city stables, "he can't walk in the veld" like the other 11 donkeys we already have here...she say's...



So next month it's off to swakop to fetch her (and mine) donkey(s), by then the new stables should be done...here is the progress so far







Even all the fences have been horsiefied




will update as progress follows...or when swambo decides it's all done

So, roof is on and tack-room is finished. Just one more gate and all is done. Fetching the horses in 2 weeks.

So we managed to organise everything accordingly to finally fetch the horses. Stables are done and everybody is happy

We drove through to swakop the previous night, so as to leave early the next morning. Day started off driving out to Goanikontes to fetch my horse, then back to swakopmund to load Lara's horse. With everybody and everything packed, we were ready to head back to the lodge.





The horses were loving the scenery


After some fun in the Gaub Pass seeing as one of the leaf springs on the rear axle decided to seperate itself from the trailer, a quick temporary fix and we were on our way again, at 20km/h....


But we made it


ok, we just made it...


and the guys are loving their new home

Will make sure they are nice and cold. We had our draught machine specially modded for just that reason, to provide cold beer in the hot desert
