Having one of my homebrews whilst I get the truck rigged for another tour into Southern Namibia. It is a mix between camping and chaleting, but we will be travelling reasonably far. Not as far as my last trip into Nam, but I cannot wait. We leave in two days...

The weekend before last we camped at The Growcery next to the Orange River, lots of water thus there are trees and green grass and private shaded campsites with electricity etc. Will recommend.

Then with an even stronger recommendation comes Tierhoek in the Southern Richtersveld, no facilities, beautiful scenery, peace and quiet, just the place to stay on your way up to or back from the Richtersveld Nat Park.

Enjoy Bruce and please send our regards to Rob and Elsie. We had a great stay 23 - 27 Apr. It is dry though.

The roaring lions and chip in from hyena and jackal every night was very special indeed.

A few pics from our stay at Roratau Bush Camp 23 - 27 Apr. There is 1 tap available and 3 x 6A power plugs. No 220V kettle, hairdryer or microwave for instance allowed for obvious reasons. FIL and friends both had two fridge/freezers connected plus battery chargers and the power coped ok.

    http://www.rorataubushcamp.co.za/

We were 3 families who shared the newly build Vlakvark site. You could possibly squeeze a 4th caravan on the other side of the Fortuner. The sheltered boma helped a lot as it was quite windy the whole weekend. Lots of dust tho as it is really dry.

    Site layout from different angles.

Bathrooms are a duel setup, unisex or how ever you apply your own logic . Gas-fired geyser with very powerful flow. Wash-up are alongside under shade. I like it a lot.

There are also the 5 original campsites, shared around a boma and small pool, separated by shrubs. Not the best pics sorry.

Vlakvark is the most secluded site and about 100m from any other site. Another new site was developed in line with Vlakvark, but only suitable for 2 caravans. There were people on site and did not take a pic.

Oh yes, nearly forgot - quite a bit of game on the farm, including walking very close to 5 giraffe . Lots of fun can be had on a MTB.
