I'm going to Ezemvelo just outside of Dronkwordspruit . Never been there, hopefully its a nice place to be and the weather plays along.

We spent another weekend at Camp Thornbirds in the Dinokeng. This time we camped at the river instead of the main camp. We love it to be on our own, peaceful and quiet. The water is back, the bass will surely follow soon. Last year I caught two within the first ten minutes.

After my call in the morning, the spot was cleared of all tall grass and animal dung by the time we arrived there in the afternoon. Louis and Ann (the owners) also came over to ensure we are OK and comfortable. They think of creating more spots along the river if the demand is there.

We've camped at that exact same spot and enjoyed it thoroughly. It gets a little busy around the water during the day over weekends, but come sunset you are left alone to enjoy the sounds of the bushveld in peace and quiet. IIRC the new name is Dinokeng Lodge and Campsite and not Thornbirds anymore?
