Does anybody know something about Kondomo. It belongs to the EC parks board. Where is it situated in the Baviaanskloof?

Use this link and click on "map" on the left. Click twice more until the map shows all the campsites and private accomodation spots.

    Default Baviaans

I was there 3 weeks ago. Very nice. I spoke to few people before I went and they suggest to me to rather do it from Patensie to Willowmore. We slept the first night at Kudu Kaya, beginning of the Baviaans which allow us enough time to go through it. The 2nd evening we slept over at Duiwekloof, next to Makkadaat. Makkadaat was full but duiwekloof was very nice. Specially for winter as there was a full braai room with kaggel & braai place with pooltable etc. Will try to get some pictures for you. The stretch from Kudu Kaya to makadaat was just too long. NExt time I will sleep over another night at Geelhoutbos or Doodsklip. Rooihoek (very beautifull) is very nice but there is a lot a monkeys. We braai there but they stole all our buns. I wouldn't sleep over there if I had a choice. It was an excellent trip and worth while

    Default Prado Hill???

Where in Baviaanskloof is Prado Hill? I understand it's on a 4x4 trail, but which trail is it? Someone on the Weg forums would like to know.

Of sů sÍ hulle in elk geval!

Hi, just camped there this weekend.
Not bad, bit too close to the road to my liking. Try the websites: www.baviaans.net for info on kondomo - under the parksboard. And look at www.baviaans.co.za and find Kudu Kaya under where to stay - been there twice and it is stunning

I think I've just found Prado Hill! I remembered that I had the SA4x4 issue in which they looked at the LC70, so I had another look at the article. They just mention the name of the 4x4 and hunting facility, Tuinskloof, on which the launch took place, but a quick google of that threw up this article - http://www.motoring.co.za/index.php?...icleId=3781129 - in which they mention the ill-fated Prado. 'Tis a wonderful thing, this Google...

I can recommend staying at Piet & Griet Krugers farm, Zandvlakte - Griet is a great cook and the place is always spotless. Zandvlakte is the first farm west of the wilderness area. Look at http://www.baviaanskloof.com/ The 4x4 route at Rus-en-Vrede just a bit more west follows farmtracks south across the Kouga mountains and ends near Kareedouw. Not a very difficult route but with beautiful views.
