Default 8 satellites in one hour??

    Hi guys

I know very little about our galaxy, planets stars and satellites. I do enjoy looking at the night sky though.

We were having a Braai on Saturday eve and saw 8 satellites in less than an hours time pass over us. I have never before seen so many in one evening. One of them was the ISS and another one was (forgot the name for it) one of those that flicker every second or so. I was told they have rotating panels that reflect the sunlight.

Is this normal to see so many of them in so little time? This was between 8 and 9pm.

Also had a few strange sightings on Saturday night, for us the only explanation was planes without flashing lights, did not look like the satalites I normally see.

How to you know which satalite you are seeing ??

The ISS is big. Much brighter than the rest! Also confirmed it with SWAMBO's BIL who is quite a knowledgeable oke when it comes to these things.

You can check it tonight at 19:25 as per link below. I see it passed at 19:41 on Saturday. Around the time we spotted them.
