Default It's Final. I LOVE my Landy!!!!

As said many time over the past almost 2 years that I owned my Landy: I liked it from very early on but I never loved it as I loved my Safari.

Well, I finally realised that I came to love my Landy as much. And that is very very nice.

I like to spend time in it. It makes me smile when I drive it and when I work on it, it is not with the business like fashion that I worked on all my platkarre where I need to service it, and get it over because it needs to work day in and day out.

OK. It is nice to have something like my Passat where I can simply throw fuel every 900 km and do the oil and filter change every 15 000 km and with that it runs 6 000 km per month at 160 km/h in total comfort.

But hey, for an oak like me who loves his cars like he loves his dogs, it is nice to have a vehicle where when I start working on it, it is plain and simple joy and I don't care how long it takes. It is playtime where I check everything a1000 times over with a coffee, a beer or even a red in the hand.

And I know, my cheap "unreliable" Landy took and will take me to places that the megabucks Vehicle / Trailer / Satphone /Accessories / Combo owners "dream" of (and dare I say for image and not passion), but never get to.

I can scratch the paint and it becomes a decoration. It will break down slightly between nowhere and nothing so that I can appreciate the surroundings for longer. It will not make the highest dunes. But it will always give it's best. And it is not perfect, because my Landy is genuine and honest. And that, is marvellous.

Well, my disco is now immortalized!!!

It will possibly out last the movie, and maybe even be taken to LA to go on display..

DesPite the fact that it refused to start the first time the camera turned its way, in true land rover style.

It's better than the cruiser got

Dis so mooi gestel. Dit is nou daardie liefde vir 'n Landy wat net ware Landy eienaar verstaan.

Alex, so what movie is the Disco in?

    Default Loving your Disco

I love my Disco too, just don't get to drive it during the week as its the Family car. So when under it or head in the engine, it has to be done fast and right. And back on the road. Wish I had a Passat to drive and spend some proper time with my Disco, making sure she is kept running smooth. After 15 years I guess she needs a little more attention to see her into another 15.

Great post Biltong. Describes perfectly how I feel about my Landy too. Like I always tell people who joke with me for driving a Landy, (a) when I drive it - even to a business meeting in Sandton, it feels like I'm on holiday in the bush, and (b) whatever you say about a Landy, life is ALWAYS an adventure when you drive one! I love it!!!!
