Re: Removing the cat from a Dirt bike

Yeah i agree. The gains made from exhaust mods are so little on dirtbikes its not even funny.
Selling both the Gasser and the Sherco at almost giveaway prices. I'm done with Enduro. Just going to...

Re: Freelander TD4 2004 Diesel not starting

Why do i think it is valve clearences?
Does it start when the engine is warmed up?
  3. Re: Calling all Fj Cruiser/Wrangler/Fortuner and Everest owners.

The FJ is not the right vehicle for lets say 4 avid wildlife photographers no. Nor would a SWB Jeep wrangler be good for that as an example. Those vehicles appeal to a different market segment. ...

Re: Removing the cat from a Dirt bike

    Pull it.
Go a bit richer on the airscrew.
If you have to, fiddle with the needle (Move the clip one closer to the sharp point of the needle) but i doubt that would be necessary.
    Done.

    If today...

    Re: Wolwekloof 4x4 Reboot.

    Hi guys.
We are starting to lay out the first loop this weekend. Any tips or requests/suggestions would be very handy before we get going.
Changing things afterwards should ideally be avoided as we...
  7. Re: Calling all Fj Cruiser/Wrangler/Fortuner and Everest owners.

Had to choose between the Rubicon and FJ too.
Did not like the way most roofracks mount on the rubicon (Drill holes through the roof, or import a very expensive setup that bolts to the back of the...

    Wolwekloof 4x4 Reboot.

    Hi all.
As many of you know, Wolwekloof 4x4 is just outside Pretoria, close to Cullinan.
It already has quite a few tracks crisscrossing the farm but numbers dropped dramatically recently.
    We have...

Accommodation - Minimum stay.. 2 nights

    Hi guys.
Is it just me or are more and more places now doing the minimum 2 nights+ accommodation these days?
It seems to be quite a challenge to plan a route with single overnight accommodation...
  10. Re: Pretoria - Swazi - Moz - Kosi/Sodwana - Sani pass - back home

    Thanx!
That is exactly what we are after.
Some must see places and things along the route. Even if it causes small detours.

Re: Sprite Tourer SW vs Explorer vs What Else?

I'm no expert whatsoever, but i would ask myself:
Would i be willing to chance it on a trip with a caravan that wasn't REALLY built for what may lie ahead (Conditions and weather changes things in...
  12. Pretoria - Swazi - Moz - Kosi/Sodwana - Sani pass - back home

    Hi guys.
We are contemplating a trip that will take us through Swazi (With an overnight there), to Moz (Maybe Ponta?) with an overnight, then Bhanga Nek (Overnight x 2), Sodwana (Overnight x 2),...
  13. Re: Wife can't see where she is going when doing inclines.

No. Nothing to do with seat settings or the other stuff you mentioned. I mean on climbs. Getting close to the top. All you can see is the bullbar and blue sky.
It still freaks her out. Something...

    Re: FJ Cruiser suspension upgrade

I don't have experience on the OEM shocks, but. They wont last if they are run on an FJ with heavy aftermarket bumpers or winches and stuff fitted on the standard springs.
If i was to throw money at...

    Re: FJ Cruiser suspension upgrade

I must admit. I tend to agree.
Coming from an offroad racing background and spending a lot of time on suspension I am quite surprised how little vendors and 4x4 drivers actually know about...
  16. Re: Wife can't see where she is going when doing inclines.

Hoekom sal sy "afhanklik" raak van die ding?
In my ondervinding gaan sy die ding soos 'n stopstraat ignore in 'n paar weke en probably net gebruik wanneer dit actually nodig is.

    Selle met haar...

    Alles waar.

Ek was saterdag self op 'n spot oppad berg toe vir...
  18. Re: Wife can't see where she is going when doing inclines.

    Good idea.
I will experiment with various fitment locations.
  19. Re: Wife can't see where she is going when doing inclines.

This is mainly for when she is the driver.
  20. Re: Why would anyone want to use a DC as a family vehicle?

They might be dirtbikers who need it for weekend fun or something similar?
Also very handy to go get stuff at Builders Warehouse, drive some garden refuse around, etc.
  21. Wife can't see where she is going when doing inclines.

    Hi guys.
Just thought I would share and maybe get inputs from you lot.
My butler is a bit short and one thing that freaks her out completely is when we do a climb and she cannot see the path in...

Re: Dinokeng SDR Day Trip Best Route

Thinking of taking my butler there this weekend so she can get a feel for the FJ in the dirt, hopefully see some wildlife.
They say there are picnic spots along the route, or you can catch some chow...

  28. Re: Holistic future proof solution for Fridge and compressor

    Thanx.
Yes i was thinking of the compressor under the bonnet too.
I saw a guy who ran the pipes to a connector on the top of the metal bullbar. He just plugs in the hose there, press a button and...

  32. Re: Holistic future proof solution for Fridge and compressor

    Thanx man.
I am interested in the bit where you say you can charge from Alternator, Solar OR mains.
Are you sure this allows for 3 power inputs and they are 12vDC (Alternator), Solar, and AC?

    They failed the car.
All four spots (Roof rack and on the front bumper) had to be removed and car re-tested. Was done. Vehicle passed the test.
  34. Holistic future proof solution for Fridge and compressor

    Hi guys.
I know the various topics around this have been discussed. I have searched and read a lot on here but alas.
They are either very technical, or address the items in isolation. For someone...
