    Re: Scarborough Reels - Fishing

My dad fished with these reels. It was a bit before my time.

When I started fishing they had been relegated to the store room so I learned on multipliers.

We went fishing on Bazaruto as my...

We also went to Sodwana for many years. We however stayed in the Sodwana Bay Lodge without any safety issues. There have however even been armed robberies there as well. I can handle a lot of the...

    Nice tip!

    Re: Braai-ing chicken

    Basically this.

I must admit this is one of the more difficult things for me to braai. You braai for damn long on slow heat. It is easy to overcook it because you are so scared of serving it under...

Re: Ranger 2.2 xls 4x4 auto Consumption.

I did this test again and it does look like it makes a small difference. I don't know if I drive it softer (SWAMBO actually told me over the weekend while driving with me that I drive (ry hom!) the...

Re: 3.2 or 2,0 Bi Turbo

From normal driving in town it does not look like the new 2.2 (turbo or twin turbo) Ranger is getting that much better figures than the previous 3.2. My 3.2 in town averages about 8.8 - 9.2 km/l...
  11. Ford & Mazda Re: Extended warranty / warranty & service plan?

Mine is 2018 but I don't know under which policy they replaced it. So I am not sure whether they MUST have replaced it or whether it was NICE of them to replace it under the maintenance policy.

    I...
  12. Ford & Mazda Re: Extended warranty / warranty & service plan?

I have not read it that carefully but I know for a fact that I did not pay a cent for my wiper blades or the installing of them.

When I bought the vehicle they sold the thing as park it there and...
  13. Ford & Mazda Re: Extended warranty / warranty & service plan?

Yup agreed. On my 40 000 service my wiper blades were replaced. It also includes things like brake pads etc. just not tyres.
  14. Ford & Mazda Re: Extended warranty / warranty & service plan?

    I agree with this.

Mine is still in all warranties and service plans but I am going to get an extended warranty when mine runs out.

I would rather fight a bit when an engine goes for example...

Re: Top 5 4x4 upgrades to begin with

Re: Ranger 2.2 xls 4x4 auto Consumption.

Sorry I only saw this when this thread popped up again.

I can't see any real difference because my driving includes highway as well which I think affects the figures too much.

The 2.2 manual was actually a lot more responsive that I thought it would be. I just had to drive it a bit...

Unfortunately I have not received the 3.2l stats yet.

But I got the 2.0l single turbo (from the same place - I have posted their details already).

On 3000 rpm these are the claimed stats:

Re: Auto vs manual in off road conditions...

Some vehicles have the hill descent control that makes life a lot easier. That then would negate some of the issues with hill descend.

Re: Performance increase with only oil/coolant

So let us, for the moment, say it is not possible.

Does that mean the tuner bamboozles his dyna (and the customer) somehow to show these results?

Re: Performance increase with only oil/coolant

They are doing their first T6 3.2l next week and then I can get the reports on that as well.

It just seems unreal that only fluid can do this.

    Performance increase with only oil/coolant

Re: Ranger 2.2 xls 4x4 auto Consumption.

    This is very high.

I get above 8km/l on my 3.2. It is then a combination of town and highway driving but the highway part is in peak traffic.

Would like to hear more comments on driving it in...
