For me you drove the southern part of Desolation Valley and not Divorce Pass. This valley is absolutely amazing indeed!
448257
Divorce pass is short and easier than the riverbed.
Another scenic option is Desolation Valley, straight north from Rhino Camp.
But all of these tracks are really... desolate. Are you one vehicle...
BBW = Brandberg White Lady Lodge (I guess)
SRT = Save the Rhino Trust = Ugab Rhino Camp
The Ugab was drivable between Ugab Rhino Camp and Divorce Pass this year in April. So should be no problem...
Thanks all.
I'll try to get there on (next! :D) Friday afternoon, but the day will be busy...
Walter, I have the exact dates for the parks (as far as we don't stay stuck in a riverbed...).
One more question...
Do you know if they are open on Saturdays?
Many thanks!
Hi there! It's been a while...
I'll visit Namibia once again next April with a group of friends.
I'd like to take our permits for different parks and dates all at once in Windhoek but I'm not sure...
A place for the desert elephants and lions is Puros where you can spend a half day or a day with a local guide in your own car to have better chance.
We will have the documentary on Arte TV (in France, and Germany also I guess) on 23rd December.
I'm so happy of this Xmas gift!
Yes indeed!
It was already around 75 cm deep last month.
Last 20th October:

I would probably have done what you did and paid myself... :)
I can't see why Palmwag Concession would get money from people driving that far from the concession!
I already heard from local guys trying to get toll fees in the Elephant Song area but I don't...
You enter from where you want from the north and then pay at the exit of the Palmwag concession.
As far as I know, not all the Crowther's trail is under a permit, only the part in Palmwag...
Deteema is run by Robin's and Sinamatella is unable to say if it's booked or not.
Tis is what we did last month. We got Kennedy 1 (hot water as well) from Main Camp, Mandavu from Sinamatella, but...
I was in Kazungula 3 weeks ago and couldn't see anything like this. And neither any sign of works having started...
The question in December is "wet or dry?"...
Maun / Savuti (via Mababe) or Kasane / Savuti are both easily doable in one day.

This is actually what we paid. USD29 for the camp + USD10 for the park fees.
(NB. You must add the USD10 park fees to the USD172 for Kennedy as well!)
For us 5 it didn't make many difference, but...
If it is a criteria, ablutions at Khumaga and Nxai South Camp are strictly the same!
Totally dry, actually not. But unusually, yes they are.
Few pics we could take just 2 weeks ago:

Amazing! Fuel was so expensive in Zambia few years ago...
Should read am of course! :)
We started from Kazungula around 8:00pm only that was a rather bad idea as we were at the border at the same time than all the day tours to the falls and we spent almost 2 hours for crossing into...
We loved much Mandavu dam as well. A pride a lions just on the other bank of the lake and hundreds of elephants and buffalos at sunrise...
Robin's is not so bad but under run. We spent one night...
Coming from the East, at the gate at Vic Falls...
From the West as we did, maybe from Zimpark in Harare by email?
I understood perfectly the concern! If we had seen any sign we would have turned back.
But we saw strictly nothing saying a road would be forbidden or even a permit needed.
And the guy we met at...
Not sure this is a question of rain there...
Incredible!

October 2015:...
Well, we did that road.
Not a lot of game (few elephants, kudus, impalas, monkeys... we didn't take many pictures of them) but very nice views on the Zambezi and special "ghost" lodges in the...
I think I would rather combine Malawi and his amazing lake and South Luangwa...
Many thanks for this very nice report in an area I love so much!
A pity that with this hard driving in the upper Hoarusib you missed the beautiful pass at the bottom of Mount Himba Sphynx between...
Yes Simon. It will stay by friends in Kasane.
