5 watt bulb
I have checked during testing ....and made sure they are way apart 12.8 stop...restart 15.5v (and it does now work if I attach a 12v bulb to the coil terminals of the cradle)
I will give it a go "ext relay coils"...more colour please
Not powering anything off the relay...it is just a on/off contact or switch (zero volts over the N/O contacts, using one set of the N/O contacts to break the control circuit of the "other circuit")...
Would a contactor or a solid state relay work?
Dammit.....the "fine print"
I have checked during testing ....and made sure they are way apart 12.8 stop...restart 15.5v
I added a 12v bulb to the relay cradle supply (coil terminals), and it worked the issue now is that the bulb will be permanently illuminated while the electronic controller is in the "use battery...

Thanks for the suggestion and that is definitely part of the strategy to get a satisfactory outcome...but I need to make sure that I give BMW Sandton a reasonable chance to respond to my complaint
No worries...I think it does look like a casting joint

Hi all...Thanks for the feedback.
For interest, I have uploaded 4 pictures, there should be 2 pictures of the cylinder as requested from BMW Sandton, when BMW Sandton sent them they did indicate...
And that is why you need oversight, like a complaints department, or internal affairs for the police, with real authority and no corruption to tackle bad behaviour stemming from company practices...
I have asked the "Mini Expert" for permission to reveal his name and the "Mini Expert", aka Paul Cloete from Pauls Mini Workshop has indicated he is happy that his name is posted, so long as I make...
I disagree "Standard up selling procedure" upselling involves selling you something that you don't really need, and the salesman convinces you of the worth thereof, it does not involve blatant...
I don't really want my money back....just want to know what is actually wrong with the car so can feel confident that the vehicle will not leave my wife in a "situation", also don't want them to do...
At the end of the day, I agree, unless BMW itself takes on the issue to investigate a potential SCAM which may represent a deep systematic culture within their dealers to take advantage of their...
Yip, you are correct, there is no "real" financial claim except the charge for the initial diagnostics, the towing costs to Pretoria, the inconvenience of no car, the cost and inconvenience to fetch...
Thanks, I have escalated this to BMW South Africa, via their complaints department, received a notice of lodgment, but have had no feedback. I will register and post on BMWFanatics
Hi all
Thanks for the quick opinions, can people suggest maybe a more appropriate forum for this complaint, or short of getting lawyers involved a process resulting in an outcome.
My wife has 2011 Mini Cooper S Convertible, acquired at the time with approx. 17,000 km. To date the vehicle has a full-service record from BMW Sandton and now has approx. 115,000 km, still in very...
Trying to upload the diagram again
It is my poor diagram, the way it wired is that the neutral and the lives for both circuits are isolated.
Seems when I attach the picture it goes from a white background to a black background.... frustrating
