Most conman problem with 4X4 engagement is water entering the breather of the front 4x4 selection motor. Check it out.

After 7 Years driving GWM I am still happy!

Had done my second 100 000km on my steeds. First 2.8 now 2.5 and did not had one day engine problems.

I am happy to inform that GWM SA had replaced the ECU on the vehicle with the original software and my old vehicle power is back.

Thanks allot GWM. Now driving a Steed is a pleasure again.

I had up to date 4 GWM bakkies

And when the new generation arrives I will again trade in. Very good value for money.

Willis, Just say NO!

Let them prove the effect of the Down Grade first before the touch the software!
And if the do it without your consent, the more power to you!

The downgrade are done by oks from Johannesburg traveling to agents. I don't know if any agent can preform it by them self.

I spoke the the techs which did the upgrade. They have shown me the curve and it is under the previous curve. And believe you me, there is an clear power drop.

Believing it would be for my benefit I had it done (at no cost).

The Steed is hardly the multiwagon and GWM has moved on since then, but the major thing is the rust issue. As I live inland I have no trouble, but costal owners must take note.
