Re: Water running into Isuzu diesel tank

That might be something to do, after considering fire risks, fill the tank to the very top of the filler hole and see where it leaks out of.

Granted the incoming water may be leaking in via...

Mechanic you can recommend in Mosselbay?

My Aunt needs her old Ford Escort serviced, the models that were released in the 90's I think. She has been taking it to the Ford dealers, they charge a mint and the vehicle is pretty old and appears...

Re: Is it possible to strain oil?

What can I say, don't judge me based off of your poor standards of work?

It's a manual gearbox, there are no valve bodies or mechatronics, the process is simple, remove the oil without adding...

Re: Is it possible to strain oil?

Horses for courses, I only needed to drain and exchange 1L of oil and it's not rocket science.

I'm troubleshooting the oil viscosity in the gearbox so it's a bit of a fiddle. I'm not straining...

Poll: Re: Disco 2 V8 ES To buy or not to buy

Also agree R80k is too much, with the Landy reputation preceding it and the gas guzzling V8 they are not quick sellers, last I looked R50-60k in nice condition seems to be the going rate.

    They...

    Re: Tiguan or BMW X3?

With modern BMW or Vw's as long as you have R80k in the bank for a rainy day it's all good.

Granted that seems to apply to just about any modern vehicle of half decent pedigree these days but...

Re: Final Proof: the D2 is better than the D3

Both are magnificent vehicles... when they are working, I'm not sure I'd choose either unless I had bottomless pockets.

Re: Difficult to engage 3rd gear when warm

Synchro is probably a little worn on 3rd, from what I understand that is a bit unusual because 2nd is the most hard working synchro and normally the first to go.

New oil or better oil will...

That's going to hammer cash flow, pity the guys that were planning around getting liquidity from stock auctions just as this was announced, best of luck to farmers in the affected areas

Re: Advice on a Freelander 2 Petrol Automatic

Last I looked the petrol version is pretty rare so some spares might not be easy to get hold of and may only be available from LR at eye watering prices.

Re: Is it possible to strain oil?

If you are such a klutz that doing something so simple as draining oil into a clean container will be a impossible task then for sure it would be a k4k idea for you to attempt it.

    For all us other...

The original panel beater bought the vehicle outright because the poor work they did resulted in the vehicle not being economically repairable at that point?
