    Re: Kgalagadi

Christa is correct, tarring the roads will have zero impact on visitor numbers. It may increase the numbers wanting to go, but the numbers that can overnight in the Park is dictated by water...

    Re: Kgalagadi in December

My advice - donít get hung up about doing any ďtrailsĒ on your first trip. Keep it simple and explore the main roads along the river beds. Thatís where 99% of the action will be.

    Re: Kgalagadi in December

90+ percent of my trips to the Kalahari have been in December / January. It's a fantastic time to go, you get used to the heat very quickly.

It helps if you like beer.

Re: Australian killed by Elephant Kunene

    Jan, thanks for the videos.

Can I ask please, was it possible for you to reverse to a safe location when those elephants were approaching you? That is not evident in the video.

Re: Landcruiser 79 update in 2020?

There are a few dealers around that will change the ratios for you, cost of around 20k is what Iím led to believe. Ask yours if they are able to.

Re: Australian killed by Elephant Kunene

Vector P makes a very valid point. There is no need to have elephants touching vehicles and in the long term you are very likely inducing behavior that will result in a death, either a tourist or the...

    Re: Zimbabwe 2021

Agreed with Mike, it looks very rushed.

But the first thing I would do is get through the border on day 1 and stay at somewhere like the Lion & Elephant. It just makes the trip into Gona so much...

Re: Another Gonarezhou upgrade - Starbeds

I stayed at Malugwe a few years back by complete chance and it was fantastic. This new platform looks great and will even eliminate the need to pitch tents in the winter months.

Agreed about shouting at burglars. The burglars could also have fled in panic without taking anything.
