    Re: BF Goodrich KO2.

I have been using BFG for years. Very happy. In the last week had to fit Coopers though due no availability of BFG in the size I required, either KO2 or3. Will have to see how the Coopers do.

Re: Parts for older Land Crusier

I owned an FJ62 Cruiser at one stage, mechanically similar to your car. I could get everything from the agents. Maybe times have changed.

I now drive a Patrol where parts are a much bigger issue....

  8. Re: Some more thinking... Some more of your thoughts please.

You put forward a very good argument here. Pity about the colour but for the rest, I think it is a very good option.
  9. Re: Toyota Hilux Legend 50 reverse parking sensor

CandiQ is your vehicle a dcab? All Legend 50 dcabs and club cabs come standard with rear cameras
  10. Re: Some more thinking... Some more of your thoughts please.

I would really like to hear your feedback. I was very disappointed.

Re: High mileage prado. To buy or not

Having owned both Prado and Patrol, I'd be hesitant to just swop the one for the other. Depends what your needs are. They are two very different vehicles.

    Re: Huge land rover dilemma

In my vehicle ownership time, I have owned around 60 vehicles to date. Only twice have I been left at the side of the road, both times in Land Cruisers! But it was in vehicles that at the time have...

    Re: Huge land rover dilemma

Peter, genuine question. Are you then saying the crank and related problems on the V6 diesel have been sorted post 2015?
  16. Re: Continues to run couple seconds after shut-off: Diesel 2001 Pajero 5speed 3200 En

Not arguing but trying to understand.

In a carburettor fed petrol engine, excessive carbon in the combustion chamber can glow and cause combustion after switch off because fuel can still be sucked...
  17. Poll: Re: Best second hand 4x4 low cost & maintenance

Given your criteria, an early Model Fortuner V6 fits the bill. They go cheaply and are as reliable as you can get.
  18. Re: What is the distance; Aus to Walvis via Meob Bay?

If I get that with the Patrol I'll be ecstatic!
  19. Re: Continues to run couple seconds after shut-off: Diesel 2001 Pajero 5speed 3200 En

I guess your problem is more in line with post #4. First investigate the hardware.

Oil residu must be quite severe to cause engine runaway.

Well, once again happy to report another SA company reacting very quickly.

  21. What is the distance; Aus to Walvis via Meob Bay?

I have been invited on a Aus to Walvis Bay dune trip via Meob Bay. I guess the "normal" dune trip.

Can anybody perhaps help with the distance of this trip?

I need to start planning, especially...
  22. Re: Continues to run couple seconds after shut-off: Diesel 2001 Pajero 5speed 3200 En

Highly unlikely that this will cause run on in a diesel engine.

    Re: Cruise Control

I installed a system from Bestech https://bestech.co.za/ in a Triton. Did it myself.

I worked better than the factory installations in my Fortuner, Prado and current GD6 Hilux.

Re: Burst TYRE - Renault Duster

Firstly, I sincerely hope your wife is OK.

Secondly, what are you trying to say? The Duster holds up well/badly in a crash? The tire was bad? The road was bad? She was (un)lucky?

    Not trying to...

I don't think there are many better than Roddy in that line of business. He can be a bit grumpy at times but I will let him touch any vehicle of mine.
