    Re: Nissan sani kb280td project...

Rather just get the Isuzu KB 4x4 gearbox and transfer case, the front and rear propshaft on all Jap IFS vehicles should all be the same: front prop out on LHS, rear prop out in the middle.

    Re: Smoke and more smoke?

Drop a proper V8 in there. That Rover was pathetic so if you're going to be using 16L/100 you may as well get some ponies.

The Chev LT1 has been dropped into a lot of Defenders and Discos. Some...

Re: Ranger WLT erratic cut out

agreed, but the combination factor of glowplug light and rev counter seems to indicate a complete loss of power
  14. Re: Old School Adventure Bike - Which One?? (Post Pics!!!)

Nuut was hulle om en by R4900 uit die boks uit. Net BTW.

En nee, electric start kannie maklik ingaan sonder 'n HELE nuwe engine casing vanaf die XT600E nie. Nie waarvan ek weet nie, anyway.

Discovery 1 Re: My 1998 300Tdi Auto Rebuild and Upgrade

    Forum rules say PICTCHAS! :(

    EDIT: thanks! :)

The bits of piston are probably that melted stuff, or else went out the exhaust valve and munched the turbo.
  16. Re: Old School Adventure Bike - Which One?? (Post Pics!!!)

    I have to agree.

Flood a TT600 when you drop it and it can ruin your day. BTDT, spent many a day with a sore right leg.
  17. Re: Old School Adventure Bike - Which One?? (Post Pics!!!)

No electric start. 160kgs dry weight. And that tank dents if you look at it.

You also need to understand how to tune the dual carbs together, the primary is a standard round slide carb and is used...

Re: Dust proofing a defender 130 tailgate

Combination of foam strips and door rubber.

If I recall, the 130 tail gate isn't a one-piece like the 110? It's the HiCap tail gate? It has removeable sub-frames?

It does indeed seem to need a GPS antenna. If yours has one, you might have to reconsider its placement if it isn't picking up any Satellites.

Double the Price? But yes. Very competent
  27. Re: Old School Adventure Bike - Which One?? (Post Pics!!!)

    Well you see..............exactly.

OUT OF THE BOX, I rate the DR650 with a Clarke plastic tank as a very competent trail bike and medium distance adventure bike .

    Second would be a XR650L...
  28. Re: Old School Adventure Bike - Which One?? (Post Pics!!!)

A DR650 or XRL650 is to my mind a better bike than the KLR. But I prefer bikes with great front shocks and decent belly clearance. Other people will have other needs.

I speak under correction but I doubt the WL25 had any crank position sensor.

This sounds like an electricity supply issue.

LR Extreme is quite far from Centurion. About 40kms.
Could just as well go to Landyworx on Randburg.

But yes, probably the best option.

That's how the Landy Gremlins work. It only starts leaking AFTER your spent 10 hours putting it and the steering relay back.........>:D
