Re: Jeep Cherokee 2.8 CRD engine replacement

Yes, this doesn't make much sense. If he sells it for ~R15k, and add the R80k he would have spent anyway, he can get a much better 2nd hand car. But for what it's worth, I doubt there was ever a...

Re: Looking for a capable everyday 4x4/Softroader

^ This. If you don't have a cheap, reliable runabout, perhaps consider one but you'll always miss your Prado once it's gone. Even if it's something like a R25k Citigolf or Uno.

Arrabbush (spelling) in south Wndhoek! Surprisingly affordable rates, good on-site restaurant and bar (although can't compete in atmosphere with Joe's, etc) and free wifi. Lovely natural setting as...

Re: DEBATE: Pajero vs Land Rover

I certainly didn't take any offense! My only gripe was with your 'sophistication, complexity' statement. That's the type of opinion we used to have in the '80's and 90's about new 4x4's! But nobody...

Re: DEBATE: Pajero vs Land Rover

As far as engine sophistication and complexity goes, it's the year 2020. The Pajero 3.2 has been around for over twenty years now, in common rail form for over ten years and is still available new....

Discovery 3 Re: Disposing of my deceased Disco

My Pajero, awesome as it is, has the value of a jam sandwich. If the engine ever goes and a Lexus V8 can be happily married to the tranny and 4x4 system for say R70k, why not?

Re: DEBATE: Pajero vs Land Rover

Since you're not buying new, it's all about simplicity. In six years of owning an old Pajero 3.2 Di-d, the only time it wouldn't get me to my destination is when the battery died. Even if something...

    Re: Newbie Pajero 4x4 advice

An engine replacement can be risky, especially if it's with a nonstandard engine. I wouldn't pay more than R30k or so for such a Pajero. It would be best to find out who did the swop and when, and...

    Re: Bronco, would you?

All depends on price. It's clear that Ford is aiming squarely at the Wrangler, which had the convertible hard core 4x4 market all to itself. But yes, thus far I like!

That is a VERY good price. Your sister will struggle to find a better deal IMO! Just to make sure, it's a Gen4, not a Pajero Sport?

It's a 4x2. That makes it much less desirable on the 2nd hand market. Still a great buy for the right reasons.
