I thought the H3 would do well with the 4:1 ratio. You can stop, leave it in gear, run and open a gate, have a wee, wait a bit, close the gate behind you, and then hop back in ;D

    I think if Renier...

They also have independently powered as well as plug in engine heaters. Its about an hour per 5 degrees below or something like that, that they kick in before you can start.

Thats a good point about the gas Paul.

Wool is a brilliant material, its heat retention increases if it gets wet although it gets heavier. It is also naturally flame proof and will scorch and smolder as opposed to burn or melt.

Its possible, I know some manufacturers have done it, but I dont know of any ''retro-fits''. The technology must exist to enable retro fitting a system that will achieve the desired output. A big...

The draw back to down jackets or sleeping bags/duvets is that it loses all of its insulation properties once wet but they do have excellent heat retention. Again, layering can help such as an outer...

    Awesome Ian

How many Runts did you spend on:

    Fuel
Beer (interchangeable with fuel in order of importance) ;D
    Accommodation
    Food

Would be interesting to see the splits in the above costs.

Re: Castrol GTX CI-4 Diesel oil any good?

Cant say Bob sorry. My clients get a bulk fleet rate but I think it could be < R500.00 to <R1000.00 for an individual.

Last time I did it about 18months ago it was R385.00 for engine oil.

  26. Re: How long does a dual battery system really last?

Simplistically, yes. It produces AC whereas a dynamo or generator would produce DC. Alternators produce power according to the demand of the system.
