    Yes, I was. However the bearings are still very good so I have no need to do much except clean it now. I will open the end caps and clean it out to ensure there is no sand or gunk in the motor.

    The guy in the video restoring his hand wheels had it wrong. It is not four hours per wheel. It is four hours per side ....

    Unfortunately it is not crackle paint. If you look at this photo you will see what I mean. It looks like sandpaper with spiky points.

    Yep, I first tried soda blasting, but the paint is too hard for the soda to be effectively removed. So, the next step up from that is wind blown dune sand....

    Yep, it is the only etching primer I could find that can be applied to surfaces that were in contact with oil before. The specific product I used is MILSPEC so it is very good.

    Just watch the Pedrollo pump's impeller. My first version had the same and the greywater bacteria ate it away. I only use Wilo now.
