    Re: Conqueror Commander

Conquerer het nooit uitgekom met HCdP nie. In stede het hulle 'n back yard ding ingesit met 'n m0erse transformer. Ek het my Companion s'n uitgegooi en vervang met 'n HCdP paneel.

    Die nuwes lyk...

    Re: Grid-tied or off-grid. Please consider ...

Must agree. Their service levels are crappy especially if you compare them to a company like SolarMD which is available 24/7 7 days a week.

However I can't complain about the service after level 5...

Re: What pumps to go for with solar in mind

I am complete off-grid. I had a 3 phase 3kW borehole pump which I replaced with a 1.1 kW single phase Franklin pump. Borehole is 40m deep and I run it to a tank about 60m away. As Ekkekan said, your...

Re: HCdP Panel & AGM Battery

I am charging 2 AGM's (90Ah) in my Companion with a HCdP charger (don't know the Mk) from 2014 without a problem. You can contact HCdP and confirm if you want to have 200% piece of mind.

    Re: please help me calculate....

    I am completely off-grid (for 3 months now) .

Did I do it for the investment?

    Hell NO

    BUT

ROI = 6 years and 7 months without increases from Eskom.

    Re: Another solar question

Yip, SolarMD. Hulle naverkoop diens is uit die boonste rakke. Selfs beter as MC s'n.

Voorwaar 'n lekker gevoel. Al hoe ons weet dis load shedding, is wanneer die selfoon sein wegraak[emoji849]

    Thanks.

Not much discussed. The only negative I could pick up was that it is expensive, but currently 2 months off-grid with no issues.

    Re: KZTE Torque bolts

Make sure you get a head gasket from Toyota. 5 knots is the thickest one you can get and is normally recommended if you do a head job.

    Re: Another solar question

A little bit off topic, but since opinions are shared...

I have a Microcare "system". In short:

    2x 60A MPPT's
    10kW Inverter
    24x PV panels

What is/are the opinion/s of MicroCare?

    Re: KZTE Torque bolts

Replaced my KZ-TE's head 150k km ago. NO re-torque done after 1000km. Did it as in point 3 all at once. Just make sure to follow the torque sequence.

    Hallo Brian

I guess your setup is the same as what mine was, i.e. three phases split into different loads as already discussed above.

I ran a single phase generator through a three phase change...
  30. Re: Going solar - a success story - totally off the grid

Yip, 3 topics that cause power outages on the farm:

    1) Load shedding
    2) Weather
    3) Cable theft
  31. Re: Going solar - a success story - totally off the grid

.... but that is for costs that is 10 years old....I guess. I bought a 6kW solar array for R40K not R137K. So R200K is a good "guess" for a system.
