  1. Re: Larger diameter tyres and towing ability & consumption

That same app shows a 13.2mm sidewall difference and I assume that is what prompted you in the first place to go bigger.
I'm starting to convince myself to go bigger soon, but I want to go from...
  2. Re: Looking for a android app that can be used for offroad travel

Google Maps. All you need is to download the map before you go.
  3. Re: Larger diameter tyres and towing ability & consumption

Larger diameter means a drop in actual wheel torque in the same gear. My tyre app says the drop is 3.3%.

    Re: Putsonderwater

For sure drill core trays. I would estimate that every tray would have cost nothing less than R20k to obtain. There are a few thousand trays there. It looks pretty recent as well. There are a few...

Re: 3L DTeq KB6 4x4 Oil Change info

The 15k engine oil change interval is really pushing the limit for any mineral oil. 15k is most probably OK-ish for full synthetic.

    Re: Putsonderwater

I lived in Marydale during the mid 80's. I rented a few rooms in an old house that was owned by an old gentleman who used to do diamond prospecting for Newmont. Drove through there recently.... not...

Re: 17 Isuzu 300 auto 4x2 Fuel Consumption

    The consumption sounds too high.
What was your previous car and what was the consumption (I assume with identical usage pattern)?
Do you have standard wheels and tyres on your Isuzu?
  8. Re: The story of Shrek - My T5.1 Transporter 4motion

I share your sense of satisfaction (R12k permitting). It does appear as if Shrek needed that nose job and R12k for such a service is most probably below par.
PS. I caught a lift in one of Shrek's...

    Cats,
Could you personally confirm the cambelt condition? I smell another upsell here.
  10. Re: Ford Raptor sticker kits - to remove or not to remove ??

I saw a few (real) F150 Raptors this weekend. Man, that is one handsome beast. They were all unfortunately parked, so I couldn't experience the song of the two big exhaust pipes in anger.

    Re: Pajero Sport question

    Interesting question.
Either NSRI have a typo on their side, or they are simply running the same add as last year to save cost, or Mitsu have a few of the previous model 2.5s still in storage and...

    Re: Jeep overheating

I'm afraid it does look like it.
My Chevy is blessed with the same VMMOTORI 2.8 engine and it breaks my heart to see something like this.
    Strongs to the OP.
The earlier part of this thread never...

Ford & Mazda Re: Trailblazer cooling

    Estee,
Thanks for your input and sharing your knowledge.
Those early transverse engine cars from Leyland... oh dear! I was blessed with an old Austin 1100 as a student. Very quickly learned that...
  14. Re: Help please, stranded Hilux (2018 GD6 2.4)

A friend at work is experiencing the same issue on his wife's new Fortuner. After the dealer couldn't solve it (including the use of silicon sealant, some of which he suspects got consumed by the...

    Thanks for the info.
Intuitively, one would accept that higher fan speed will have the biggest effect to dissipate heat. Your supplied info corroborates it and actually shows that it happens to the...

Re: Trailblazer vs Isuzu MUX parts

I was chatting to a new MUX owner recently and we compared speed and revs. No surprise that the Trailblazer and MUX appear to have the same gearing. But.... when we started digging down into the data...
  18. Re: Pajero 3.2 4x4 engagement- Lights on but grinding sound

    Hi Stranger.
Great link and one to save, for sure. But...
The OP's symptom is a grinding type noise. Makes me think the 4x4 wants to engage (in other words the vacuum system is operating), but...
  19. Re: Pajero 3.2 4x4 engagement- Lights on but grinding sound

I have no knowledge of the history of your car or possible fixes, but can you confirm that the front and rear tyres are the same size?

Ford & Mazda Re: Trailblazer cooling

Yip, my thoughts also lean towards mesh. If I pull the trigger I'll get it done by a pro to make sure it is a neat job. The number plate actually takes up quite a bit of real estate in the centre of...

    Yeah..
The EGT numbers generally posted on forums suggest that the gasses passing through the head to generate +100C coolant temperatures, should be 4 to 5 times higher than the coolant...

Re: Toyota Australia in trouble .

EGR is a valve that opens to allow exhaust gas to return back into the inlet manifold and combustion chamber.
DPF is a filter that catches some harmful particles in your exhaust gas.

Re: What did you do to your Mitsu Today ?

Great stuff. Removing those seats (kicking and begging to go with, I imagine) saves you big on weight. My Pajero had "locating holes" in the floor next to the bolt holes. If your Pajero is the same,...

    Re: Cheers Trailblazer, Hello MUX

    Re: Saftrade 3 way freezer

I also have a Zero 3-way. It is actually a gas freezer. When on 220v or 12v, it heats up an element to mimic the flame. So yeah, like Joshua said: heavy on amps.
