    Re: Hluleka Nature Reserve attacked

Terrible, I know a bit more about this and extremely sad.

Hope the husband makes it as they also apparently have a nearly 2 year old son who saw it all.

Re: Charging camera batteries in the bush.

I have one of these for my (Nikon) camera. Works very well and no inverter needed. You probably won't have time to get it this time but something to consider for the future. I don't know if you get...

    Re: I bought a fridge...now what

Thanks for this, I would like to know should somebody do this how it works out - I have an Engel 40l as well and interested in a set-up like this. I don't camp long enough (in the rough) for a dual...

Re: Where to buy Flannel shirts

I have seen some at the Pick & Pay clothing store.

Don't know what quality, especially compared to what you get in the US (I have a couple), but worth a try.

Re: First real camping trip. Advice needed.

I agree with you - you get very good compact coolboxes that do the job and can fit in middle of the footwell in the back-seat feet area. I have one, will post pic - pricey for what it is (R700-R800)...

Re: First real camping trip. Advice needed.

Exactly what I was thinking - the other 2 people, kids or adults?

The carmaquip mattresses are great (yes good for you but it rolls up big). I see they now also have a hiking version out which...

    Re: Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park tour

Must agree with Jens78 regarding the route. I was going to suggest earlier you just fly to Durban and rent a vehicle here, but then you miss out on the nice drive down from JHB.

    The HIP is not...

    Re: Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park tour

Grimmo, as said above, there is no camping inside HIP. So you won't be able to "sleep in the car".

You either stay in a bungalow, from a basic ("rondawel") where you use communal toilet &...

I have no personal experience with the Custom Leisure Tech canopies, but my neighbouring camper at a recent MTB race had one on his vehicle, so I asked him about it. For what it's worth, he was very...

I've just check with a local VW dealer - trade on these are R186 100 and retail R229 700?
