    Re: Lithium vs Lead Acid

In a parallel connection, your watts and amps is added up taking you to 540W and 34 Amps , but the volts stays the same. So even 2 panels in parallel is too much for the Ctek

    The D250S will go...

Goes beyond saying, and I suppose you have already connected everything, but just be sure that your panels is in parallel. Not serie…. :o

    Something like this?

    200Ah Narada

Much thinner than a normal battery, but a bit higher. This is an AGM

There are many versions of these under different names.

Re: Solar System for Home ( yet another :)

They're looking at about R13k a piece, but I already advised them that this is basically the price of a new one these days. Think they paid just over R14k.

So open to offers, I'm sure they'll...

Re: Solar System for Home ( yet another :)

By the way, if anyone is interested, my inlaws have upgraded their solar system from 2 x 5Kva Mecer inverters to one 8Kva Sunsync.

Those Mecers worked less than 6 months.

    Going to place an add...

That particular battery's spec sheet will give you that information. Obtain this from the manufacturer.

Sure thing. I've obtained quotes at a few agents though, and prices on labour and merchandise differ substantially.

Re: Solar System for Home ( yet another :)

Ok but realistically speaking, how do I do this? Sure with the panel watts I can go up to 2000W

But what about the volts? I'm already on 110Voc

    So my reasoning is, 110V / 5 panels = 22Volts per...

Re: Solar System for Home ( yet another :)

Ok, so today is my second day using the Victron solar system. To refresh:

    - 48V 3Kva MultiPlus II
    - 150 | 35 MPPT
    - 5 x 22V 135W panels in serie

When the system was commissioned by...
  16. Re: Victron 15 amp Charger and High Cycle Battery

Don't think this is correct. The amp output must go down as the battery gets charged and will be very little when full SOC is reached. If not, you will toast your battery in no time. And this is a...

Re: Solar System for Home ( yet another :)

Nowhere in the manual, or on the Victron Energy site can I find anything that states which of the I & II settings is inverter mode, and which is charger mode.

    Where can I find this?

Re: Solenoid versus DC-DC dual battery system.

    This.

And thus allowing you to pull much thinner wires to the load bin.

16mm2 all the way from the engine bay is seriously overkill for a DC2DC charger.

All else is fine as far as I can...
