    I think at Toyota you don't call the engines underpowered we rather call them understressed!

    Toyota specifies 10W30 for the Engine
    Transfercase 75W90 GL4
    Diffs 85W90 GL5
    ATF is Toyota (Type -IV) please do not use normal ATF .

    Up to now we only had one V8 fail and that was because of a damaged fan and radiator ( Cat sleeping inside fan cowling) . Engine had to be replaced since they don't like overheating!

    The rule at Toyota is all Auto Transmissions with a Dipstick Take the Type IV oil. Later Transmissions without dipstick ( Prado, LC200 and Fortuner with 5spd box and new Fortuner ) take WS oil....

    That is not new to us , here in Otjiwarongo every new Toyota goes for wheel alignment as part of the Pre delivery service. Some are way out from factory!
    Strange that not all dealers do that.

    Interesting for me to see that the 3.5 v6 petrol is running a watercooled intercooler with 2 additional radiators to keep the intercooler cool . I just can't see if its running a seperate cooling...

    We just got news Today that one of the off road racing Hiluxes is now fitted with the 3.5 Twin Turbo engine instead of the V8! But we don't know yet if Giniel or Lategaan will drive it!

    If you look at the Torque output of the 3.3 it delivers more torque over the whole revrange ( from Idle ) than the 4.5 V8 ,and its max torque is also from 1600 -2600 just like the 4.5 . So I don't...

    Only the GR-S has front and rear lockers, the GXR has only rear locker and the ZX has "rear torque sensing limited slip diff".
