Re: Photo trip report, Namibia south and west

Sorry Ted, I missed your post.

In hindsight, Alte Brucke would have been the better choice. However we have decided if we are in that area again, we will opt for Goantikontes oasis.

    As...

    Re: camping sites open?

All the sites I inquired at in Dinokeng for the past 2 weeks said they are not operating yet. I know of one operating. That is for camping.

    Re: camping sites open?

Where is that gazetted? Leisure travel is open, overnight stays are allowed with no more than 2 people per room, unless it is a nucleus family. Nothing specific is said about camping.

    Until it...
  8. Re: Fridge slide GD6 Fortuner/whats under the rear carpet?

There are 2 brackets in the middle where the jump seats fasten. Hubby removed those brackets and used the bolts or holes to fasten the false floor. A friend's was done by LA Sport and they did the...

Does that allow for overnight stays in own provinces as well? Was that said during her briefing now?

Re: Taking our SOHO off grid

We have had 12 of those panels installed now for almost a year. They seem to be doing a good job, but I think our set-up is a bit different from what you are planning. Not that it should matter.

I am beginning to expect the same for our December booking. :(

There seems to be no end in sight nor the will to save any part of the tourist industry.

    Re: 2.8 GD6 Auto Consumption

No I don't use power mode either, not even when overtaking with the caravan.

I just find it extremely sluggish in Eco mode, but it could be my driving style. 8-)

    Re: 2.8 GD6 Auto Consumption

It is none of my business, but I am curious as to why you always drive with Eco mode? I detest Eco mode and never use it. Maybe try a tank just driving in normal mode.

    I have a similar Fortuner...

Re: Do I extend my warranty?

Not a big deal really. The 120 000 km service on the D4d was major as well and it ranges from R6000 - R9000 depending on dealer.

Still not worth dishing out R50 000 for an extended service plan.
