You have a snomaster battery box, with what inside?
  2. Re: Is a thermo electric cooler suitable for fruit and veg?

If you get it for free it's worth it. They are big power drains. Insulation is also usless
  3. Re: Need opinion on National Luna portable battery

Agree with Johan, my son uses the exact same system in the back of his Nissan. Alt pushes out 14.1v so although the 105ah battery is not charged 100% it works for him. He has fitted a 20A solar...
  4. Re: To Afrispoor or not to Afrispoor, that is the question.

Only you can answer that. Caravans are not an asset that the bottom falls out of. So if you enjoy camping and it ticks the boxes why not. Just look on Gumtree and see how few you find 2nd hand.

Re: Lifting a 2018 Ford Ranger "Low Rider"

Ok 235 works well. Speedo very accurate. 255 you notice a loss of performance and speedo under reads which is not ideal. 100 on the clock is 108 true. 15000 service interval is 16350km true.

Re: Lifting a 2018 Ford Ranger "Low Rider"

Front is coil over shock. You can fit a 255/70x 16 tyres but they drain the power, and the speedo is way out. A better option is a 235/70x 16. This is if your base model is fitted with 215 tyres...

  14. Re: First fridge/freezer - Help me make the right decision please

Duel battery depends on your DIY skills. Battery box. wrnd dc/dc charger with solar input. Wiring with fuses. Battery. The costs mount up quickly. Min cost is R6000
  15. Re: First fridge/freezer - Help me make the right decision please

They will run when traveling yes but the wires are too thin for this application and you should run thicker wiring
  16. Re: First fridge/freezer - Help me make the right decision please

The NL legacy range now has a different comp to the older models and power should be equal on both models. However a duel zone running a freezer on the one side uses a lot more power
  17. Re: First fridge/freezer - Help me make the right decision please

I run 2x fridges. I have a 90L NL twin. Excellent for when you need a freezer for a long trip. But on a short trip the freezer comp was used for beers only. It is also big and heavy. Due to this I...

    Re: Snomaster vs Dometic (80l)

The cf range are more power hungry as it's older technology. You would need to compare the cfx to the snomaster. Cfx is lighter to carry, the snomaster is cheaper on the wallet.

  33. Re: Can I tow a caravan less than 750kgs with my normal code B license

No. Even if it was only 700kg on the weigh bridge, if the gvm is 840kg it is illegal for you to tow with a B licence
