    Re: Isuzu not starting.

If starter connections all good etc and engine check light is flashing then check your key still has the chip in it. If all good then your antihijack black box that is covering your fuel cut off...

  3. Re: To buy a toolbox with tools or separate tools?

To the OP, first let him buy the Landy. Then teach him how to service it and replace parts using your spanners at your home. Once he is confident, then get him quality tools.
  4. Re: Advice on which self inflating matress to buy

I bought two carmaquip mattresses, they have a water proof covering and a bung to keep air in ie when rolled out the compressed foam sucks in the air, making for a better mattress. Due to Christmas...

Re: Black Friday deal - 24/7 generator

I'm wondering. If one was able to dig a trench exactly around the world at the same level start meet end and allow the sea to fill it. With the rotation of the earth, would the river not flow like...
  6. Re: Kerosene mixed with new oil substitute diesel

I thought helicopters used power paraffin or is that also known as kero. My dad ran his V8 on power parrafin during the Rhodesian war. You had to start the motor with petrol to get hot, then switch...

    Re: Bedroll vs sleeping bag

IMHO if a bedroll gets wet ie leaking tent, you will have a hard time drying out bag and attached mattress. Having them separate means sleeping bag will dry quickly.

    Whahahaha
  9. Re: To buy a toolbox with tools or separate tools?

I'm thinking on same lines. Surely Land Rover is imperial and not metric. Amppro seem to have life time guarantee as well as midas tools. I would go Gedore. Don't know if they still make Metwrench...
  10. Re: How much it costs to drive 100km in South Africa’s most popular bakkies

Back wind and down hills do help with economy... If you have a teenager daughter/s, then throw out half their suit cases clothes to lighten load[emoji23]
  11. Re: How much it costs to drive 100km in South Africa’s most popular bakkies

    10km/l so R1. 50 per km. If a back wind then R0. 15 per km[emoji23]
  12. Re: Kerosene mixed with new oil substitute diesel

Surly 4SO is better, you get double the wammy effect at the same price [emoji23][emoji23]

    Re: Escom grid Voltage

The tap changer has a motor and measuring equipment. When you load a transformer, the specialized monitoring equipment sees a dropping in voltage, then it sends a signal to the tap changer which then...

    Re: Escom grid Voltage

OK escom send us, the municipality 132kv to our 132kv/11kv transformer. When the load drops due to town loading, then transformer automatically taps up voltage to maintain 11kv. When loads drop, tap...

  17. Re: Towbar maintenance - powder coat, paint or galvanize?

The old timers who owned VW beetles would spray the under pan with old engine oil, then drive on a dirt road. The dust would keep the oil in place. Might work on a tow bar, don't worry about oily...

Re: Campsites - Port Alfred area

Aah, that sounds great. Shame, perhaps the wife is finding it difficult to run. I hope it sells to good hands who will continue with it.
  19. Re: Towbar maintenance - powder coat, paint or galvanize?

Not an expert but no matter what you do, one scratch and rust will start. Galvanize is tougher imho and with an over coat of hammerite it should last. What most forget, is to also protect inside of...
  20. Re: Navigating on ipone without internet connectivity

Just came back from Sodwana. No reception in park. Hawawi P9 lite does not have GPS. So in short, without internet I was screwed, lucky I have my Garmin GPS to rely on.

Is this also not one of those Fish River sun scenarios, where the community wants the land back or are the owners wanting to retire. Interesting to know.

    Re: Escom grid Voltage

With the council we try to keep our P-N at 235v and P-P at 400v. If escom taps up voltage then our transformers will automatically increase in out put voltage. If the escom voltage goes too high, we...

Silly question. At Sodwana Bay, I noticed white vans with cop flashing lights on roof but no door decors to indicate if they are traffic or sap. Any ideas who they are.
