    Re: Which Braai?

The other thing to keep in mind is ash is hygroscopic and will attract moisture from the air.

So clean out a steel braai as soon as the ash is cool enough to do so. Sounds too simplistic but this...

    Re: CVT oil change??

Get a schematic, drill and tap a drain hole and the same for a filler. Make plugs.

Sample the oil that was drained and get a report specifically if it is fit for further use.

    If not, kick up a...

    Re: Which Braai?

Willie, stainless would be the way to go but expensive. I would suggest regular maintenance of a steel braai that takes your fancy. Sand down and recoat with braai paint, which can withstand 600c...

    Re: Hummer Reliability Update

Size wise the H3 compares with an FJ, its just slightly longer but shorter than a DC Bakkie. With the exception of SFA, its comparable to a Rubicon. (In the right hands)

I was still in hospital when it was presented as an option (which I took as I hate hospitals) due to the healing not being as quick as wanted. The specialist mentioned a pleurectomy, they remove the...

The H3 is permanent 4x4 with a 4H and CDL selection. TC still operates in this mode but I turn off Stability Control. It disables in 4L so the FDL and RDL can be used. I also thought it appears...

    Re: The DIY volla bakkie

I did my first trade at VW and Audi. 1st year was spent on Beetles, 411 Variants, Kombis and the odd Kharmann Ghia. Lots of engines out and rebuilds. Beautifully simplistic and robust.

Maybe just some repurposed conveyor belt mud flaps fore and aft should work, no need for metal. They will flex also if you going through scrub and rocks.

Re: 3 ply tyres for Jimny

Hopefully, the tread length and sidewall bulge data will also help in the selction.

You might consider a 2 ply but with less sidewall bulge and tread length.

What is Zelda going to do with the FJ? The H3 and FJ are in the same class if you exclude the H3s lockers all round, 4:10 transfer case and better entry and departure angles.
