Poll: Re: Types of 4x4 enthusiast

I don't think group 1 is necessarily any less capable,I think there is often a lot of experience there, they just don't have to prove anything to themselves.

He said reduce by 0.2 bar at a time until you reach the desired footprint , not "reduce to 0.2 Bar"

Re: Dunlop Grandtrek AT3g (owners review)

They are heavy , they are really useful for certain applications where you want all of that rubber, but I would not use them for town driving and general runabout type of work.

    Re: Namaqua 4x4 Eco Trail

As for the trail itself being a hazzard I dont think it is a problem if you dont go down road to Hell.
But it is always better with some companions.

  12. Re: What is the distance; Aus to Walvis via Meob Bay?

I heard 2.5 as average for petrol vehicles which gives 192L for 480 km , that fits with the 250L advice.
  13. Re: Klein Pella Guest Farm on the Namakwa 4x4 Route closed for Visitors

Ons wag vir n antwoord , hopenlik binne n paar dae.
  14. Re: What is the distance; Aus to Walvis via Meob Bay?

I have not done it yet as Covid intervered , but I was told 200L for diesel and 250L for petrol vehicles total. Those that have done it told me that that was plenty for diesels , but conservative...

  16. Re: Klein Pella Guest Farm on the Namakwa 4x4 Route closed for Visitors

The trail is open , you can bypass Klein Pella and go straight on to Witbank. A circle route through Charlies pass can still give you the sights and is worthwhile doing before continueing to Witbank....
  17. Re: Klein Pella Guest Farm on the Namakwa 4x4 Route still closed for Visitors

I have to correct my previous post , I was mislead to believe that the farm was opened.

Klein Pella is still closed for outside visitors, I will post here as soon as we get confirmation of it...

    Re: Approximate tyre volume?

I got 134L from that formula.

My bad , that is external volume, Round 100L is probably right.

    Re: Approximate tyre volume?

V=(Ԉrē)(2ԈR) where R is the major radius and r is the minor radius. Ԉ is pi.

    Then multiply with the pressure.
  20. Re: Klein Pella Guest Farm on the Namakwa 4x4 Route now open again for camping

Klein Pella has opened its gates for campers again , we are waiting to hear when the guesthouse will be open again.
