Re: Camp fridge,105ah battery and solar?

But is it worth the expense for such a small gain?

I didn't say it wouldn't work, it just works better where your volt ranges are higher. The MPPT has more room to work its magic.

Re: Camp fridge,105ah battery and solar?

Perfect just like it is yes. The gain you will have from an MPPT will be very very little.

The only reason I have one is because at the time, I found what was the bees knees at the time (Ctek...

Re: Camp fridge,105ah battery and solar?

The long and the short of it is.

PWM (Pulse with modulation) It is basically just a switch that directly connect your panels to the battery.

MPPT (Multiple Power Point Tracking) When panels are...

Re: House to run ob solar when sun shines

No one is being roasted, we're all here to learn and I only see a gentlemanly discussion.

This is how I see it.

An inverter being designed as a pure grid tied one, means that it will supplement...

Re: House to run ob solar when sun shines

Noted and granted, but the idea was never actually to compare any inverters.

I merely held forth my opinion that electronics subjected to higher temps more often will see a reduction in their...

Re: House to run ob solar when sun shines

With the current rates, to gain anything from feeding back into the grid you have to produce as much as you can to feedback.

This means the inverter, and MPPT's are constantly working when you...

Re: National Luna 12v Split Charger System

I think it is fairly safe to accept that your Cruiser has a 12V system. Else the Ctek would not have worked, and none of the other electrical components in the vehicle.
