Re: Wheel spacers for CX-5 AWD

Big difference between a sporty low profile tyre and a 4x4 type tyre though.

Re: Wheel spacers for CX-5 AWD

225 is already the max recommended size for 7J rims.

I changed to 235 due to availabilty and they handle fine etc but they already look big for the rim. I would not be keen to go up to 245.

    Re: Is this it?

I would guess that the big red knob could be an onboard fire suppression system for the test mule. If one goes up in flames you want to put them out quick to be able to determine why it went up.

I remember when the new Ford Ranger was launched, the marketing was going on about a million test kilometres. It didn't seem to help with their cooling hose issues, or their turbo issues on the...

Used to drive up to Richards Bay from Durban once or twice a month. The difference in fuel consumption going up vs coming back down was substantial in my Polo TDI, 5L/100km going up with the tail...

Re: Claimed Consumption Please sue a manufacturer

Only 2L/100km? Jeep GC Hemi was rated at 12ishL/100km combined. Realistic figure is closer to 19L/100km. I did read something about the EU cracking down these claims with a proposed introduction of a...

Ford & Mazda Re: Which small car?

    You'll be surprised.

Dealers get commission from the banks for every finance deal they sign up, so they make more money than off a cash deal.

Agreed, rented an Etios, never again. Really twitchy handling at speed and very cheap feeling.

Re: Can tyres make SUCH a big difference

I have the 2.5 Auto FWD.

I would be sceptical putting 245s on, if you look up the correct tyre width for 7J rims 235 is already oversize. I would be worried about how 245s would affect the...

Re: Remove Cat from 5.7 Hemi WK2

Not only the cats, the WK2 has the cylinder shutdown function. This supposedly makes a nasty exhaust drone if you change the exhaust without knowing what you're doing.

Re: Can tyres make SUCH a big difference

I went from 225/55/19 to 235/55/19 on Swambos CX5 due to increased availability in that size. There is definitely a noticable difference in performance, feel and fuel economy. Probably around 0.4 -...

Re: Insurance reject stolen vehicle claim.
