    Re: JK shocks

It may be worth installing a set of Fox shocks? They are the de-facto standard for JKs with a bit of self-pride.
However, even a pair of quality shocks won't cure the JK's inherent ox-wagon ride. :)

    Re: Franschoek ripp off

Yup, Franschoek is a rip-off. Nothing to see there. Same with Paarl. And Wellington. All sad imitations of the real thing.
So grab a chair and gather round. Let me tell you about Stellenbosch. Best...
  5. Re: Land Rover Defender vs Ford Everest - Let's open a can of worms

Took my D4 in for a service at N1 City LR recently. The service lady said something like the following:

Re: Advice Needed for Rust Repair - Cape Town

I had a 1998 Patrol at RustGuard in Paarden Eiland for a similar problem. It also had rust around the rear doors. I chose them because they were recommend to me by a guy who is into classic cars....

    Re: 4 x 4 / safari clothing

I find that wearing a nice Borat mankini works wonders for creating some space around my campsite. Really comfortable in the Kgalagadi in summer too.

    Re: Hi all

That's a really dumb question. Of course you need to keep 'em on your 4x4 to show everyone just how READY you are for your next adventure! Empty gas bottle holders look a bit bleh, don't they? Bonus...

    Resurrecting a year-old thread.

Is this still the standing advice? I.e. From Bloem, rather going via Jo'burg enroute to Malelane, than to cut a more direct route? I'll have a gatvol 2 year old in...

Out of interest, what size tyre are you planning on running on your 17(18)x10's? I see on Errols Tyres that Aline has a couple of models in 18x10.
I think you may be better served going up a size if...

I think Skoonpa is claiming 6.5 km/l, but he drives everywhere at a sedate 80km/h. When you actually need to get somewhere, you will see closer to 5.5 km/l. But it is a lovely engine. There is that...
