    Re: Nxai pans

I don't think one should choose. CKGR and Nxai pans are not comparable. They are not the same type of experience and each has an allure of their own making each worth a visit.

    Time of year...

Re: Kgalagadi (Bots side) during covid

Yes from Gabs it would be Sekoma. Notoriously unreliable a few years ago, but apparently they always have fuel now.

Are you having a covid test done in Gabs before your return?

    You are aware...

Re: Moremi Game Reserve NOT accessible

Pat, that is just such a wonderful sight. 8-)

I believe the expected level of the annual flood this year will be low. Not much rain have or is falling in the escarpment and catchment areas in...

Re: Why are Bush Lapa's so popular?

Kewers are sold in much lower numbers than Miskruiers. Why not rather look for a used Miskruier? If you really want to you can have it converted to a Kewer.

Re: Prado d4d 3.0 td, CAT removal (2016)

You can remove the CAT, no mods needed.

After having gone through the experience with my Prado, I just always have to ask why. I gained no power or increased fuel economy.

Re: Road conditions in moremi and chobe

Yes, I think your first step would be to try and get bookings.

If you are very worried about road conditions, make bookings for Khwai North gate and South Gate as your base camps. You are...

Re: Road conditions in moremi and chobe

You will not be let into Moremi without a confirmed booking except as a day visitor. All camps in Moremi are operated by private operators, not DWNP.

Why would you want to risk driving all the...

Re: Road conditions in moremi and chobe

Well Moremi is currently closed due to difficult road conditions.

Nobody can answer your question this far ahead of time. It can go either way in terms of road conditions. April can be a high...

    Re: Tsendze Camp

21 first choice, 5 second choice.

21 probably has the best shade of all the sites in the camp. You can see the fence, but it is not on the fence. Closer to ablutions than 5 as well.

Re: Why are Bush Lapa's so popular?

The arms are not the double construction any more, it is a single piece of aluminium. I think the dimensions of the 'gaps' between the poles are different as well because our previous wing's sides ...

Re: Why are Bush Lapa's so popular?

Righto. That is the previous generation wing. As Bruce alluded, the 3 small poles around the axis is now integrated.

The 'grovelling on the floor' comment is a bit melodramatic.;D::) But...

Re: Why are Bush Lapa's so popular?

You have me worried now. We are on our second wing and they were both either factory rejects or we are doing something seriously wrong. We have none of what you describe. :)

Re: Jhb to Satara - best route

I agree with your reasoning Gustav.

I hate pottering through half the park when towing and even more so when you have to get to a camp like Satara where the good camp sites are occupied as soon...

Re: Jhb to Satara - best route

That is the best of all the bad routes.

We went to Hoedspruit in December via Lydenburg, Ohrigstad, Hoedspruit. As soon as you pass the border between Mpumalanga and Limpopo the road improves...
