thanks, considering they're only around R100k in pristine condition, and old trashed TJ should be less than a Disco1

I have a cunning plan. TJ with manual AX-5 or AX-15 (most probably AX-15 here in ZA), and a nice old school 2.8 to 3.2L Jap TDi engine..........

But I can't find a TJ without an engine.

Total 10ppm gives me reduces power and detonation.

I avoid Total diesel if at all possible.

I'd say stick with 50ppm and preferably Shell.

    Re: defender 300tdi gets hot

Yep, viscous is a variable speed drive and at speed the frontal airflow over the radiator core is higher.

So my immediate guess when there is high heat at speed is a blocked core or a duff water...

Re: To sell or not to sell - Jeep

So around 15L/100 to 17L/100 when off-roading, that is really not bad for a large V6.

So the claims that the FJ are astronomically better should be taken with a pinch of salt. In fact, Ubbo's...

Just wondering then why you need 35 inch muds on a commuter car?

Less than 5km/L? Good grief. Something very wrong there.

  21. Re: This is the best way to blow one bar: buy a Maserati.

We bought our 2012 JKUS for R390k. Lowest price I can find in Autotrader is R210k. Average price seems to be around R250k.

    So let's say we've lost 35% over 7 years. I think that isn't bad...

The TDV6 engine is a Ford engine.

    Fords often burn.

Is this some type of cross-contamination?
