Re: Prado 120 series Pics/Mods/Upgrades etc.

Some good ones, some bad ones - so be careful. I think Outback Extreme make one of the good ones. Try Neil Woolrich in PMB.

Re: Lockdown , economy and fulltime camping

We're right there. The wife and I are actively looking at this. What are you towing? My head is in a few different places on this. Caravan comfort, but able to do halfway decent dirt roads is a must....

Toyota quoted me R5000. My mate quoted R4500. It's all in the gearbox

    Re: Sheep of Lamb

Geez Jelo! I grew up with mutton from the Barkly East area and make that pilgrimage occasionally to stock up my deep freeze. It's amazing - I prefer it to lamb.

    Re: Simple, but it worked

We had a little weir on the river, close to the house. Built a run-off and drop, and placed on old washing washing motor with a boat propeller on. The water used to run and turn the prop and motor....

Re: why do drum brakes still exist?

Pedders does a drum to disc conversion for a number of vehicles, but the price makes it a non-starter for most in SA. Divide it by 10 or more and it flies off the shelves in other parts of the world....
  12. Re: Land Cruiser 200 towbar height issue (2009 model)

The 200 Cruiser is low at the back and not given to heavy loads. You cannot have urban comfort, add a load, and expect it to stay level. You can put a raise plate on it if your load is not too heavy....

Petri - in short - if the second battery is not connected the monitor should only show one, and the yellow lights should only be on for the one battery - showing the strength. Again, if the second...

Re: Squeaking brakes after pad replacement

You often find that the compound on cheaper after market brake pads aren't complementary with that of the discs and the squealing never goes away. Sometimes it's just better to bite the bullet.

    Defender 2016 Bull Bar

Good afternoon. I have tried all the usual suspects and it appears that noone makes a bull bar for a Defender anymore.

Any ideas in the Joburg area?

    Re: Prado 120 steering wobble

Possibly - yes. If you feel this when you brake to a slow stop - it is almost certainly that.

On the rear knock you might find that your shocks are a little short and are topping out. To check...

Yes. We use a 10L HTH bucket. Fill it, tie it on the roofrack and go for your drive. It works.

    Re: Amarok Seikel or EFS

There's a 3 year / 60,000 warranty. In the one or two instances (yes, they do happen) where the has been an issue the component has been replaced. Offline we can have a long discussion about this.

Have a look at Pedders. We have fitted a number of different manufacturers to Amarok. The best lift (still within VW specs) and ride has been Pedders.

Re: Aftermarket shocks - Please suggest a brand

Pedders Foam Cell TrakRyder shocks and Gas TrakRyder shocks are really good. They're used exclusively on Roush Stage 2 and 3 Rangers, and on the Avis 4x4 rental vehicles.

    Re: 150 Prado shocks leaking

If you want the hydraulic shock - it's Toyota. If you want to get rid of them - then it'll cost a bit more initially.

  28. Re: attacks-in-cabo-delgado-insurgents-continue-to-sow-terror
