    Re: Is this it?

Clearly you are among the very, very, very few customers that the old defender is suited. But of course JLR want to churn thousands of defenders per month, and folk like you were a drop in the ocean....

    Re: Is this it?

    Umm.. not this argument againnnnnn....

There are 1940s 4x4s if you may still being churned out of factories and selling well, like LC 70 series etc.

So your 1940s argument doesn't really hold...
  4. Re: Prado 150 V6, 220,00km preventative maintenance

OK so when you say "... Complaining about fuel consumption on a Hemi is like complaining about the bra size of a stripper...", the two scenarios don't really don't share context. [emoji12][emoji12]

    Re: Is this it?

Well, 3rd row is a default option for some of us. Hence I stuck with D4. The 3rd row in Defender looks a bit not well thought of.
    - Seats are too low so kids can't see beyond the 2nd row seat in...

Yes. Boot space and 3rd row seat appears useless according to reviewers.

Re: The mighty new 2021 Fortuner

Ah we got that one already. A 2012 D4 V8. Was about 130,000k three years ago. Nearly clocking 200k. Been surprisingly very reliable, not just the engine but whole package generally. May be most...

To me It looks better with that bar.
  10. Re: Prado 150 V6, 220,00km preventative maintenance

There is no "fridge" yes for TX but it has an air con vent inside there which you open and close manually.

Open it and yes any drinks placed there will stay cold.

    Re: Defender D240 or P400

If it costs same as P400, then p400 is still better buy.

    Re: Ineos Grenadier revealed!!

    And rightly so.

    Intellectual property is intellectual property.

You and I both don't know what JLR has in plan and why they are fighting to preserve IP behind their icon.

    You never...

    Re: Is this it?

It looks like a simple design any other good fabricator can make given rough blueprint. I don't think it should be very expensive.

Re: Landcruiser 79 update in 2020?

Let them avail an auto on the V8 d4d.
  16. Re: Pajero given the final nail in the coffin......what a shame

Not just the motor was perfected over time, but the whole package. The models 2010+ are incredibly well put together. Both the 3.2 and the 3.8 are fantastic motors.
  17. Re: 2004 Land Cruiser (Import) SatNav reload for SA

Thats also a better advise if it reasonably retains OEM looks.

The aircon controls for the VX auto were part of the touch screen. Will that unit take care of this issue...or is it meant for only...
  18. Re: 2004 Land Cruiser (Import) SatNav reload for SA

Why the *bleep* do you want to load any map software on such an outdated infotainment system?

Just get real and use your phone for Google maps nav. You can get a dash cradle for it.

Anyways, I hope a more powerful motor will be delivered in the next gen Prado. Current one is already on its way out after all.

    That's actually appealing to some.

Re: 2014 GL350 Bluetec- Why not?

Life's boring. Why get a Fortuner or Prado that will never break... Where's the fun in that 😜?

On a serious note though, I have seen many ML350 bluetecs traversing East African roads since they...

Re: The mighty new 2021 Fortuner

I believe the 2.8 is also quieter and more fuel efficient.

There is an all new Prado 180 coming in 2022. I doubt Toyota will give ZA the 2.8 upgrade in 2021 with an all new Prado arriving...

Re: The mighty new Facelifted 2021 Fortuner

Very unlikely. I don't think such a small upgrade will produce any fireworks.

What's even more absurd is that the Prado still has the 3.0 which will be 100Nm less.

If Kingsley Holgate opted for the P400, then the P400 is the one to get.

    Re: Defender D240 or P400

    P400

The diesel is nice, but :

    1. Is the d240 refined and not as noisy? Remember it's a 4-potter.
    2. Does it drink 500ppm? Remember this is an adventure SUV that most owners want to take...

Grand Cherokee Re: Grand Cherokee Suspension Query

Air is complicated. With more complications come more potential failures.

If my wallet allowed, I would get the P400 HSE in Santorini Black.

    Re: Ineos Grenadier revealed!!

May be they have not fully abandoned the old defender project? Perhaps a reincarnation is in the works, akin to MB's effort with the G-class.. [emoji38]
  32. Re: Pajero given the final nail in the coffin......what a shame

Yes life and the world must go on.
Paj shortly is dead, and defender 90 is (re)born. It can be specified super simple for those that need it that way. Who needs the Paj shorty?
  33. Re: Pajero given the final nail in the coffin......what a shame

It looks to me like you can spec a bare bones new defender 90 sans the complicated gizmos.

For example, 90 is available without air suspension, and it's ground clearance is a bit better than Paj...
  34. Re: Pajero given the final nail in the coffin......what a shame

    I'm talking about the 2020 Defender 90 [emoji2960]

Expensive, yes, but the context was the Paj shorty being a collector's item hence would be expensive if really in that state.

    So why not get a...
  35. Re: Pajero given the final nail in the coffin......what a shame

    Very unlikely. Why?

The Defender 90 is here full swing. Why collect a pajero shorty?
