    Bought my wife a manual XV in 2014...got 14.5km per litre on a trip from JHB to Cape Town once. Don't take it off road much as we have a purpose built vehicle for that.

    The 1200GS or GSA(slightly heavier) is ideal for 2-UP....we've done many 1000km+ per day rides with no issue's.
    Would reccomend a couple of riding courses with an instructor if starting out.
